I’m from a place where……..

You play ping pong

You sing your own song

You cook up a dish

With a flick of a wrist

You watch netflix

And dad has to fix……

Everything

You fluff the bean bag

In Chinese checkers you brag

You stick together like glue

And there’s always something to chew

You watch The Middle

You make up a riddle

You never realise how fast time goes

Until you wish it could have been froze

I was writing poetry for school and this is one I created. I hope you enjoyed it. These are all things that me family do. And I love them to death!

The new look!

Hello! So today I thought that I could share about my new look/name of my blog! I am so happy and excited about it. So let’s get started

So First of all if you have been reading my blog for a while you will notice that once upon a time it was called Evelyn’s Online Diary let me tell you something about that name. Last year (5th grade) I spent so much time customizing my header that I didn’t know what to name it. Our teacher was telling us that it should be creative and reflect our blog. Well…… I had a couple ideas and just decided on one.. I literally decided by doing like eeny meeny miny moe. I was that bad at making decisions. Then came to the subtitle it then was Me taking it one day at a time. Now it is Crazy With A Touch Of Lazy for the name and Me Making The Most Of My Day for the subtitles. I choose to change it because I thought that it was just kinda basic and wasn’t a great fit for my blog.

Then the appearance I changed this before the name because I didn’t want a whole new blog but now it kinda is. I am so happy that I changed my header because if you remember the flowers were SO stretched out! It was driving me insane! I love the new look and feel to it. Also, I am soon going to change my avatar. As you might know from my post last year I was frustrated because almost all apps for avatars don’t have girls with short hair. So last year I took a picture of myself. But I have changed the way I dress a bit. So now I am drawing a picture of myself (in cartoon) for my avatar.I am so excited that I have a new look that I am in love with.

I am so glad that I have a beautiful blog with wonderful people reading my blog. I am also overjoyed knowing that this blog has changed in such a positive way. I love blogging and am so happy that I have gotten back into it. If you are just reading this and not blogging I recommend it. It is fun and is a great way to practice writing.

Love,

Evelyn

Pumpkin Patch brownies

Halloween is tomorrow that means I have to have some treat ready to go.

Okay Something quick and easy should work. I got this “spider web cake?” hard “ ghost cake pops?” I’m definitely not capable of making that. Brownies seem perfect but how can I dress them up? Here is the perfect recipe to make some cute and spooky pumpkin patch brownies. All thanks to the website Delish where I got the original recipe. I changed it up a bit to make it a little simpler in my opinion. These are super easy and tasty I highly recommend them. On that note let’s get started.

First, I got all the ingredients out and sorted into decorating items and baking in this time I also preheated my oven. Next I started making the brownie batter I used a betty Crocker box but  you can make them from scratch. I just followed the instructions on the back of the box. Once I pulled them out of the oven and let them cool. Also, don’t forget to use a toothpick to check them. They toothpick should be almost clean when you pull it out. They cooled for about 25-30 minutes (if you want to speed up the process  put them into a fridge). Make sure they completely cool if not this next step might not work. This is just the baking part of the brownies.

After the Brownies have cooled it is time to decorate! The decorating is so much fun and is pretty fast. First, I used some chocolate frosting this step isn’t just tasty but is also helps the next step stick. Remember you don’t need to make the frosting completely flat it will add a more pumpkin patch character if it’s not flat. Now it is Oreo time! Crushing them took a bit of time but it was totally worth it. I suggest using a food processor instead of using a rolling pin like I did. Most people will say to take the cream filling out of the Oreos but if you keep it in it will look more like fertilizar and let’s be honest we all know an Oreo is not an Oreo unless it has the filling. In the video that I used for guidance the said to “use white chocolate, vegetable oil, and green food dye” for the vines but I just used some green cookie frosting that I found at Kroger. The cookie icing is super easy to use if you want thin lines. I just randomly made loops and turns. After this it is time for the final step the pumpkin placement. I strategically placed some candies shaped like pumpkins. You can go crazy with a lot of pumpkins or just a few. I went with something in the middle.

Like I said before, I highly recommend these pumpkin patch brownies. They are rich and decadent and may I say delicious! They are a really good treat to get you into the Halloween spirit. The Brownies in my opinion taste better when watching Hocus Pocus or It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown. These are great to share with neighbors, friends, teachers, and your family.

1st Post Of 6th Grade!

Hey Guys, Guess what! I am officially in the 6th grade. Also, I have a new look! With the new year I thought I would spruce up my blog. I left off with leaving 5th grade and I did not write over the summer or into the school year on my blog till now. It is now 2 months into the new school year and I love it. My teachers are AMAZING and if you remember from last year my friend Dori and Sydney where in my class and Dori still is. I am currently reading the book The Remarkable journey Of Coyote Sunrise and I am obsessed. When I finish it, I will try to remember to post about it. I also finish the sequel to The Hunger Games which is Catching Fire (also amazing). I would not be me if didn’t say I am still Obsessed with Panic! At The Disco.

That is it for now.

BYE 5th GRADE😭, HELLO 6th GRADE!😁

So I am sad to say that is will be my last post of 5th grade. We have 2 school days till schools out and I have to say, I CAN’T WAIT FOR SUMMER! Though I am sad that 5th grade is over I am happy to open a new chapter in my life, but first summer. I will be going to my grandparents house in North Carolina  and lots and lots of swimming. Summer is 3 months of constant fun. I am sad though I love my teachers Mr. Farmer and Mrs. Harrod and am sad to say goodbye.

6th grade is coming up fast so wish me luck,

Earth Week

At my school this week is Earth week. For earth week I signed up to do a puppet show, guest read, and a slide show to show at lunch. At school there are other things like nature hikes and water tower experiments. Earth week has been going on for  very long time at my school and it is a lot of fun.

So today (thursday) we watched a short video called The Story Of Bottled Water  it talked all about how bottled water is just turned into pollution/plastic waste after drinking it. One of the main solutions was just stop drinking bottled water unless you must. Start drinking tap water and use reusable water bottles. Did you know that even the recycled bottles and mostly getting downcycled. Which basically means instead of using it over and over again it instead means people are just throwing it on a mountain in india. That is like someone throwing garbage into your backyard.

Earth Week has extended to 2 weeks now so today is monday. We all listened to a video called tapped. It was all about  how Nestle and other famous bottled water companies have been taking OUR water and turning it into bottled water which is 1 polluting the earth and 2 there making a huge profit off of tap water. Also, bottled water is almost all tap that is just inside of plastic bottles that get thrown into water resources. I think that it is important to recognize that Coke and Pepsi are also taking our water.

Today (tuesday) we learned all about how bottled water companies will advertise and how there are so many health defects from living by a plastic bottle plants. I learned  that there is oil in our bottled water. Did you know there is also benz in our water which causes cancer. If you were to live by a bottled water plant you can get different health defects. In 2007 the companies such as Dasani, Fiji, Ice mountain they made 1.1 billion dollars of of tap water by using models in commercials and said things like ‘this water will make you thinner and prettier’. Bottled water companies would say things like “ our biggest enemy is tap water” when 40% of our bottled water is tap.

Now that Earth week is starting to come to an end I would just like to sum it up a bit. First, it was so much fun learning and teaching about recycling and pollution. Secondly, I want to say that the videos where very helpful I learned all about what plastic does to our environment and how to change. This was a enjoyable 2 weeks and I hope that next year we extend it to 2 weeks too. I loved it and have to thank Mr.Farmer for working so hard on it.

Writing is just another way of communicating when words fall short. Writing is necessary in my life it has made me make mistakes and fix them, act sweeter, stay positive, and fill me with joy I probably should’ve said writing is the medicine that no doctor prescribes because you have to make it not from thought but from

The Last Edublogs Challenge Post😭

I am so sad to say this but the Edublogs challenge is over. So this means it is my last Edublogs challenge post 😭. I will still be posting though. For my last post I wanted to talk about what happened in the challenge. I thought it was only 1 month but then turned out it was 2 months 😂. Throughout these months I have learned so much and connected with so many people. I am definitely gonna do the challenge next year. I can’t believe that 10 weeks have already passed. This year has gone by to fast I mean I’m going to camp with my class in a couple of days. I highly recommend doing the challenge next year because it was a lot of fun and helped improve my blog. Wow I have to admit it I will  miss the Edublogs challenge soooo much.
